Welcome to the Côtes du Rhône wineyard
This medieval village with its narrow cobbled streets definitely has many charms. Its history goes back if not to prehistoric times, but at least to antiquity. A small town surrounded by ramparts is attested since the Middle Ages and some monuments such as the tower and the remains of a Romanesque church testify that period. Its castle dates from the 18th century. One of its most famous owners, Cardinal de Bernis, close advisor to Louis XV, already mentioned the reputation of Saint-Marcel wines. Nowadays the local wine growers produce excellent Côtes-du-Rhône wines. For sure Euterpe, the Muse of music, “who knows how to please” bewitches the passers-by, who fall under the spell of the place.
