Dolmens Country

The history of this area dates back to the Neolithic period, as evidenced by the presence of a large number of dolmens: around fifty in the commune of Saint-Alban-Auriolles.

The most famous is the Calvaire dolmen, listed as a Monument Historique.

These dolmens are the work of the first farmers and stockbreeders who lived in Europe during the Neolithic period, the last stage of prehistory.
