A sneak preview of what's in store
First of all, you pass under the famous Pont d’Arc, a majestic and emblematic natural arch 54 metres high. Awe-inspiring! Then everywhere, breathtaking cliffs covered in wild garrigue.
A few rapids to cross for a thrill. Small secret beaches accessible only by boat for a refreshing swim…
The vultures, Bonnelli’s eagle, kingfisher, dipper, wild goats of the Gorges, and maybe even the beaver…
A great programme, isn’t it?
And what about your night in a Bivouac? Simply unique!
To limit the impact of tourism on this fragile ecosystem, unauthorised camping is prohibited in the Nature Reserve.
But so that everyone can enjoy the beauty and richness of this unspoilt environment, there are two overnight bivouac sites in the heart of the Gorges, at Gaud and Gournier.
Sleeping under the stars or in your tent in the heart of this wilderness, lulled by the song of the cicadas, is a magical interlude!
Practicalities:
- The package includes equipment hire (canoe or kayak, lifejacket, paddles, waterproof can), an overnight stay in a bivouac and the bus ride back to Vallon Pont d’Arc.
- Bring your own equipment for the bivouac (sleeping bag, small tent, etc.) and a change of clothes.
- Remember to bring your own food for the 2 days.
- Don’t forget to protect yourself from the sun, and don’t leave without a good sun cream, which you should apply regularly.
- You’ll need to wear closed-toe shoes such as trainers, and if you wear glasses or sunglasses, don’t forget to bring an eyewear cord, as it can get a bit shaky at times.
